Bigblue raises €3 million for its logistics platform

27 Nov, 2020
The €3M seed round is led by Samaipata, accompanied by Lafayette Plug&Play and half a dozen business angels such as Clément Benoit (founder of Stuart), Thibaud Elziere (founder of Efounders) or Olivier Bonnet (CTO of Blablacar)

Founded in 2018, Bigblue's platform allows e-commerce businesses with a minimum of 150 parcels sent per month to access a network of French warehouses to manage their order shipments. Bigblue offers an end-to-end solution, meaning that it manages every aspect of the logistics process, from choosing the best transport solution based on weight and delivery location to communicating with customers on behalf of the brand.

In 2020, Bigblue benefited greatly from the COVID-19 pandemic, as many physical retailers shifted their focus to online sales. The start-up now works with over 15 carriers, including Colissimo, Colis Privé, Chronopost, and DHL, to ship packages both domestically and internationally. With this funding, Bigblue plans to expand its warehouse network and improve its platform's customer experience and communication tools.

Samaipata is a venture capital firm based in Madrid that invests in early-stage start-ups in Europe and Latin America. Lafayette Plug&Play is a French accelerator program that focuses on retail and e-commerce start-ups. Clément Benoit is the founder of Stuart, a French delivery start-up that was acquired by La Poste in 2017. Thibaud Elziere is the founder of Efounders, a Paris-based start-up studio that helps entrepreneurs build and launch new businesses. Olivier Bonnet is the CTO of Blablacar, a long-distance ride-sharing platform based in France.

With this investment, Bigblue aims to become a leading player in the logistics industry by expanding its network of warehouses and improving its platform's capabilities. The start-up's end-to-end solution offers e-commerce businesses a streamlined and efficient logistics process, making it an attractive choice for companies looking to scale their operations.
